Your funding provided our PK classroom with several key pieces of furniture that makes creation so much easier for 4 and 5 year old hands. We are grateful for our art table, easel, and writing materials organizer as well as just right sized pencils. \r\n\r\nOur art table began the year as a place to use crayons and pencils to mark papers with the visions students imagined. Students also had the opportunity to use the easel to create on a vertical surface. This is so great for brain and motor development. The students have used the easel for chalk and expo markers, as well as paper. As the year marched on the art table has transformed to a sensory bin that allows students to explore capacity and build with different materials. Wow! What lucky little learners.\r\n\r\nWe continue to appreciate these foundational furniture pieces that impower imagination and and allow it to be ever-evolving in our classroom. My students were so excited to have the use of the cube chairs in our dramatic play and safe place areas. During the first weeks of school the cube chairs were imagined as a kitchen table and chairs in our dramatic play house. Many meals were served and conversations had over this little table. Now they have shifted to be park benches in our dramatic play pumpkin patch and cafe. Our little farmers serve pie and baked goods to customers having a snack while shopping for the perfect pumpkin. \r\n\r\nIn addition to being a staple in the dramatic play area, the other cube chairs serve a purpose in our safe space. This different area of the classroom provides a place for children to regulate themselves when having strong feelings. The chairs provide a structured space for kids to sit and calm their bodies. \r\n\r\nWe are all thankful for these chairs and the role they are serving and will continue to serve in our classroom all year long. The fun and structure I've described are possible in our class because of your generous support.","fullyFundedDate":1781365515919,"projectUrl":"project/happy-little-learners-need-stucture-and/10326652/","projectTitle":"Happy little learners need stucture and FUN!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Amos","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp1572149_orig.jpg?crop=2340,2340,x203,y500&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1780782560435","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/1572149"},{"teacherId":6554543,"projectId":9281652,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous contributions to our classroom project. Your support has made a meaningful difference in our students' learning experience.\r\n\r\nThe easel has truly transformed our lessons. Because it is movable, we have nicknamed it \"the Learning Train,\" and it allows us to bring instruction right to students wherever they are in the room. This has increased engagement and made learning more interactive and fun.\r\n\r\nThe headphones have also been incredibly helpful, especially during online learning platforms. Students are now able to focus, listen clearly, and work more independently, which has greatly improved their confidence and productivity.\r\n\r\nWe are so grateful for your kindness and investment in our classroom. This year, my students have an extra art period built into their enrichment hour, and we've been diving deeply into the collage process. Your donated materials have already transformed our lessons and inspired creativity in ways I couldn't have imagined.\r\n\r\nWhen the new supplies arrived, the students gathered around the table with wide eyes and huge smiles. I heard a chorus of, \"We get to use these?!\" One student immediately picked up the paper crimper and said, \"This is going to make my collage look fancy!\" Another excitedly tested the hole punches and began planning a \"cheese universe\", tiny cheese-shaped holes for planets, and constellations formed from perfectly punched stars. Their imaginations took off before we even began the lesson.\r\n\r\nWe've already begun incorporating the new materials into our collage unit. The paper crimper has been an instant favorite, adding texture and a little bit of \"razzle-dazzle\" to their layered compositions. The decorative scissors are helping students create bold borders and zig-zag edges that elevate their artwork, and the Posca markers have become the go-to tool for adding lettering, outlines, and small detailed designs. Suddenly, every student feels like a real mixed-media artist.\r\n\r\nYour support has brought creativity, confidence, and joy into our enrichment hour. You didn't just donate supplies—you opened new doors for my students to explore, imagine, and make art they are proud of.
