My students are bright and inquisitive, eager to learn about the world around them. Many come from all over the world, speaking different languages at home including Spanish, Vietnamese, Hindu, Urdu, Yoruba, and Arabic. My district is designated Title 1; with over 80% of the students at my school receive free and reduced lunch. Yet, despite many challenges, my students are an inspiration. They take their school work very seriously and do their best everyday. They work well with each other and treat each other with respect. We have become an instant family this year. I feel honored to lead them in their reading and writing learning. No doubt, one day they will be leading me...and all of us.
