Pencils are no longer a road block, because they are readily available for scholars daily. Having the constant visual of an oversized sheet of loose leaf paper, is a reinforcement that is needed when scholars have to use loose leaf paper.\r\n\r\nThe scholars were overwhelmed with joy when the supplies arrived! They know the copier is available if they can't find their book. They also appreciate being able to sanitize the technology after each use. My students genuinely enjoy this class, as it provides a refreshing change from traditional paperwork and computer-based assignments. Additionally, it exposes them to new concepts and broadens their understanding of engineering, sparking curiosity and creativity in ways that traditional methods may not. \r\nThe students were thrilled to unwrap the equipment, and I allowed them to explore the boxes before we began working. The smiles on their faces and their excitement were truly priceless.\r\nWe are currently working on building our third robot, and with each build, the class is learning something new—from programming to calculating speed and direction. Additionally, students are developing teamwork skills, as we rotate roles between builders and engineers with each project. This allows them to gain different perspectives on both construction and programming.\r\nAfter each build, we hold a 10-minute discussion where students take notes on any challenges they faced during the project and how they were able to solve them.
