My first-graders had a huge kindergarten class last year, so we're working hard this year to connect a lot of dots. We're a very active class and like to learn in different ways. If I had a magic wallet, there are so many things I would buy to enhance their world. I've found its the old-school simple things they like most; their favorite thing is peer/small group work. It builds self-confidence and gives everyone a chance to help a friend and show what they know. I want to build our classroom library. They have very little exposure to age-appropriate magazines and I can't wait to get our books/magazines and read a non-fiction article about rain with an elbow-partner. Sweet!
