The assignment is that the students first match the letter beads to their name card. Once they have done that, they work to identify the letters in their name with the teacher. Skill levels varied from knowing none of the letters, knowing a few, and knowing all. The third step was threading the beads onto the lacing string. The students would repeat this process during the 8 minute small group as many times as they could.\r\nThe students were very excited to see this activity set up on the table when they arrived in the classroom. They immediately sat down and started moving the alphabet letter beads around in the tray to begin lacing them. The students needed guidance to understand what they were supposed to be doing with the materials. Once they understood the directions, their excitement continued as they happily matched their letters with the beads and placed them on the string.\r\nWe have successfully rotated all 20 students through working on this project during the first month of having these materials. This will be an ongoing rotation every week during our fine motor practice. We are very thankful to have received these materials as a way to help our students recognize the letters in their first name.","fullyFundedDate":1764598044154,"projectUrl":"project/letters-in-our-name/9928829/","projectTitle":"Letters in Our Name","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Ratliff","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7029905_orig.jpg?crop=275,275,x0,y14&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1634436737603","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7029905"},{"teacherId":1819766,"projectId":9961773,"letterContent":"The moment the boxes arrived, the energy in the room shifted instantly.
