Students learned so much about the life cycle, habitat, and needs of a frog. They were fascinated by how quickly they changed, and with trying to problem solve, just what they needed to survive and be happy. Not only did they learn to care for the animals, but they also learned about caring for their habitat. Making sure the tanks were clean and maintaining the right temperature were important lessons that took time to learn. The students did an excellent job of caring for the frogs, and we successfully watched 12 eggs complete the lifecycle process.\r\nThis was, without a doubt, an experience they will not soon forget! With your help, we have been able to clean out desks and chairs daily to avoid getting sick during the beginning of the school year. The Clorox wipes, Shout wipes, baby wipes, gloves, and other cleaning items you provided have made a tremendous difference in maintaining a healthy and safe learning environment for all of our students. Your generosity has allowed us to focus on learning rather than worrying about germs and illness, and that makes a world of difference in our classroom community.\r\n\r\nHealthy habits are essential for student success. When students are healthy, they are better able to focus, engage, and participate in class. In a special education classroom—where routines and consistency are key—illness can disrupt not only the individual student's progress but also the flow of the entire class. By encouraging proper hygiene and cleanliness, we are teaching our students lifelong habits that extend beyond the classroom walls. Each day, students help clean their desks, wipe down commonly used materials, and sanitize hands before and after meals or activities. The light-up and vibrating calming pillows were a big hit—students were excited to take turns holding, squeezing, and experiencing their soothing effects after I introduced them to the class.\r\n\r\nTo support emotional regulation and self-soothing, we've enhanced our designated calming corner with a variety of sensory tools, including sensory bean bags, squish balls, light-up toys, and pop tubes.
