Because they need so much practice, they often get bored with writing on paper or even on a whiteboard. \r\n\r\nThese zen boards sparked excitement and joy for my students. They marveled at the \"magic\" of writing their CVC words with just water. They were amazed to then watch the words disappear before their eyes.
