These hands-on materials have brought a new level of excitement and engagement to our math block. My students are now actively involved in learning through play, which has made a big difference in both motivation and participation.\r\n\r\nOur students especially love working with the place value games because that is our current focus. Concepts like tens and ones can sometimes feel abstract for young learners, but these games help make those ideas concrete and easy to understand. By physically manipulating pieces and playing with their peers, students are building a deeper understanding of numbers in a way that feels natural and fun.\r\n\r\nThese math stations have also encouraged collaboration and positive peer interactions. Students are talking about math, explaining their thinking, and helping one another, all while playing games and having fun! It's been so rewarding to see their confidence grow as they practice important skills in a low-pressure, engaging environment. This donation has truly helped make math both meaningful and fun for our students.","fullyFundedDate":1769814990643,"projectUrl":"project/strengthen-math-skills-through-play/10043090/","projectTitle":"Strengthen Math Skills Through Play","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. De Los Santos","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp418375_orig.jpg?crop=1080,1080,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1616716329497","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/418375"},{"teacherId":5776567,"projectId":10003536,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for supporting my vision for a creative learning environment. Our young artists are looking forward in furthering their passion by applying new skills to new creative pieces, learning about additional artists and their masterpieces through new literature, and discovering innovative designs with a Spirograph. Instead of just doing a \"free draw\" when students are completed with a masterpiece, they are now able to continue their growth with a more guided purpose. After turning in a project, students pick an activity from their grade leveled choice-based drawer. \r\n\r\nWhen students learned about our new stations, their eyes lit up and there were a few \"oooo\"s! Many students are now more focused and determined to finish a project to explore their activity drawer. The new bookcase makes it easier for us to be organized in a chaos of colors. Especially this upcoming state testing, I have students at different points of a project. This way, my artists have something to do while they wait for their classmates to finish their projects. I like that my third graders can have a sense of completion when painting their peacocks, even if they missed a day from testing.\r\n\r\nI am looking forward in starting off next year introducing the drawers as a part of our everyday art class. These supplies might seem small, but they make a huge difference in special education settings.\r\n\r\nSpecial education teachers rely heavily on visual supports and hands-on materials to help students access learning. Lamination allows us to create materials that are durable and reusable, such as visual schedules, communication boards, sorting activities, task cards, and interactive lessons. Because these materials are laminated, they can be used repeatedly throughout the year and withstand frequent handling by students.\r\n\r\nVelcro is just as important because it allows us to turn these materials into interactive learning tools. Students can move pieces, match items, build sentences, follow schedules, and complete structured tasks. These types of activities help students stay engaged and support independence as they work through their learning routines.\r\n\r\nTogether, lamination and Velcro allow teachers to adapt instruction, create individualized supports, and provide materials that help students participate more fully in the classroom. Having access to these supplies saves teachers time, allows us to reuse materials across many students, and helps ensure that our students have the supports they need to be successful.\r\n\r\nThank you again for supporting our classrooms and the students we serve.","fullyFundedDate":1768152276794,"projectUrl":"project/necessary-classroom-supplies/9996175/","projectTitle":"Necessary Classroom Supplies","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Kayleigh","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8134457_orig.jpg?crop=1208,1208,x138,y245&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1634448799921","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8134457"},{"teacherId":418375,"projectId":10028993,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generosity, our classroom library has grown in the best way!\r\n\r\nWe now have a wide range of engaging nonfiction books on exciting topics like animals, space, weather, and community helpers, all at different reading levels.
