The moment the materials arrived, students gravitated toward the fresh titles, exploring genres they had never tried before. Having high-interest, age-appropriate books available right in our classroom has already increased engagement during independent reading. Students who once struggled to find something they liked now have a variety of choices that fit their interests, reading levels, and identities. The simple act of having more books to choose from has made reading feel more accessible and exciting.\r\n\r\nThe addition of the bookshelf itself has also changed the atmosphere and functionality of our learning space. Instead of books being stacked in bins or crowded on old shelves, they now have a clean, organized, and inviting home. This visibility encourages browsing and naturally supports literacy routines, as students can easily find what they need without stress or confusion. The improved organization has also helped create a warm, welcoming classroom environment that signals to students that reading is valued and celebrated. The bookshelf has quickly become a focal point—almost like a mini library inside our room—where students gather, explore, and talk about what they're reading.\r\n\r\nOverall, this project has strengthened our classroom culture in ways that go far beyond the materials themselves. My students see that people in the community believe in their potential, and that sense of support motivates them to take pride in their reading growth. I've already seen more book talk, more curiosity, and more confidence from students as they select titles that speak to them. Thanks to this project, we now have a richer, more engaging literacy environment—one that empowers students to see themselves as readers and gives them tools to grow academically and personally. This investment will continue benefiting students for years to come, and we are deeply grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1756617355151,"projectUrl":"project/refreshing-my-classroom-library/9618621/","projectTitle":"Refreshing My Classroom Library","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Dennison","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4883835_orig.jpg?crop=2400,2400,x0,y304&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1755537987597","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4883835"},{"teacherId":5745988,"projectId":9567566,"letterContent":"I would like to express my gratitude for your generous donations project. I have witnessed firsthand how a carefully chosen book can spark curiosity and ignite a love for reading in students who previously struggled to find enjoyment in it.
