Seniors in our alternative school setting were able to print out job applications, college applications, cover letters, thank-you notes, and research papers right in the classroom—without the barrier of limited access to technology or printing outside of school.\r\n\r\nHaving these materials on hand gave my students a sense of independence and pride. They could hold their work in their hands, see their progress, and submit professional-quality applications that directly supported their futures. For many, it was the first time they had the tools to apply for a job or college without leaving campus.\r\n\r\nThis resource created a more welcoming and equitable classroom environment, where students felt their goals were within reach. It became a dedicated space for seniors to prepare for life beyond high school, helping them feel supported and capable. We created mosaics, drawings, and paintings that my students were able to take home to their families. My students come to school with just the clothes on their backs. They do not come with any supplies or backpacks. We have to provide pencils and pens for writing, so when they are put in art, they are a little scared because they can't afford the art materials. We used the clay for pottery and mosaics. Students learned how to use the drawing pencils for value drawing. Art helps students get out of freeze, fawn, and flight mode to experience the moment. They get to play, learn, and create, which can be very healing. I appreciate the assistance you have given us. We loved all the art materials and produced so much. I did not realize how long it takes to print and laminate posters. I have hung over 24 posters in both schools that I work in. It will take years for the impact of the information to be determined. \r\n At this point the results are mixed, the staff and parents love the posters. They love the idea that it addresses the use of marijuana which is the drug of choice for teenagers. I have noticed that some students have started going to the journals where the information can be found and to the website Justsayknow.org .This is a work in progress. They are passed out before each game to the players, and have been very beneficial in hygiene and moral. The players use the towels to dry off, and also waive them around when they are on the bench to cheer on their teammates.\r\n\r\nThe weight belts are also seeing plenty of use. I have five different classes that are currently using them for specifically squats and deadlifts, but many students have told me they like to wear one when doing all their lifts.
