I always aim to empower my students with life skills as well as art skills. This project of mixed media print making will give the students a new outlet of expression while we learn about the print making process through the use of Gelli Plates. This technique is a fun, fast way to create monoprints. Since we do not have a press, this is the perfect way to expose the students to a successful creation of a monoprint. This process will allow students to pull a print in one class period, clean the paint, and pull another print if they choose. We also need the rulers desperately. We use rulers with every project. We create a 1" border because we do not have the resources to buy mats. Also I teach my students to measure when drawing to make sure that they draw with the correct proportions.
