Your donations towards this project means the world to us! Our new easel is the hit of the classroom. \r\n\r\nThe easel sits at the front of the classroom. It now houses our math books because I move around the room to teach my math groups. The students can then also use the easel to practice math facts at this time or I can use it to demonstrate math work. \r\n\r\nOn their own, the students have started using the easel to take daily polls! The students take turns coming up with polls (i.e. What's better? Legos or magnet blocks?) and then asking each other their answers. They then tally up the answers! This has naturally created social skills opportunities and math work without the students even realizing. I love it! \r\n\r\nThe easel has already become an integral part of our classroom. My students absolutely adore painting and it's amazing that I am able to allow them this opportunity on a regular basis!\r\nAll of my students are on different academic levels and have a variety of interests, but they all share a love for art. At least once a week, we take the time to agree on a scene or object to paint. This not only provides a calming activity for all the students, but it also provides opportunities for communication and socialization. \r\nIn these pictures, you can see the students putting their own twists in a winter scene. :) They were very excited for the snow that came this past week!
