Because of your generosity, my students now have flexible office chairs and a stash of Jolly Ranchers that have already made a noticeable difference in our daily routine. The chairs have completely changed how we use our space — students are able to move, turn, collaborate, and stay engaged during discussions and group projects. I've seen students who usually struggle to focus stay locked into conversations because they're comfortable and able to move naturally. The Jolly Ranchers have also become a fun and positive incentive — whether it's celebrating a strong class discussion, encouraging participation, or recognizing improvement, those small moments of reward go a long way in building motivation and community.\r\n\r\nWhen the chairs first arrived, the excitement was immediate. Students walked in and instantly noticed the change — there were smiles, \"Wait, we got new chairs?!\" comments, and a lot of gratitude. It made them feel seen and valued. The new setup has already helped during a recent collaborative project where students worked in rotating discussion groups. The mobility made transitions smoother and conversations more natural. Moving forward, we're diving deeper into student-led discussions and project-based learning, and these resources will continue to support that shift. Your contribution didn't just provide supplies — it created a more welcoming, comfortable, and engaging learning environment. Their reactions were overwhelmingly positive, and it was clear they felt supported and cared for.\r\n\r\nWe also greatly appreciate the equipment items you provided, including the new ball bags, speakers, poly spots, and stopwatches. While many of us love getting lost in a good story, teaching students how to navigate a book is where the real magic happens. With these resources, I've been able to introduce critical literacy skills like inferencing—where students learn to read between the lines—and character perspective, helping them understand that every story changes depending on who is telling it. These aren't just \"fun\" books; they are the tools we use to build stamina and critical thinking, turning passive readers into active explorers of the written word.\r\n\r\nIn our classroom, reading time is no longer a silent, chore-like block of the day. Instead, it's a vibrant, communal experience. You'll see students huddled in \"reading nooks,\" whispered debates over a protagonist's choices, and a frantic rush to the shelves when someone finishes a sequel. We've moved away from dry worksheets and toward \"book talks,\" where students pitch their favorite reads to their peers. It has turned our library into the heart of the room, fostering a culture where literacy is a social currency rather than a solitary requirement.\r\n\r\nThe impact is most visible in my \"reluctant readers\"—the students who used to hide behind their desks when it was time to open a book. One student in particular, who previously struggled to finish a single chapter, recently stayed after class just to tell me they \"finally found a book that feels like it was written for them.\" Seeing that spark of recognition and the confidence that comes with finishing a book they actually enjoyed is the greatest success we could ask for. Your generosity didn't just buy paper and ink; it provided the mirrors and windows my students needed to see themselves and the world more clearly.","fullyFundedDate":1768166115265,"projectUrl":"project/books-to-read-for-fun/9995803/","projectTitle":"Books to Read for Fun","teacherDisplayName":"Coach Wood","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10399684"},{"teacherId":8113588,"projectId":9994808,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donation to help provide hygiene and grooming items for our students.
