The students were excited to build the kits and take a break right after the stress of progress report card time. There were tug of wars over the Trevi Fountain kit especially and it turned out very cute with the tiniest Lego people I've ever seen. I bought other kits so the whole class could participate so we have a bunch of architectural history to discuss and models to view for years to come. Many students from the other classes have already been admiring the finished projects and asking questions about them. They were trying to claim which one they wanted even before I could set the boxes down. Everyone was channeling their inner Godzillas and especially fighting over Tokyo because it was a retired set. Other students were very excited by the kits that had LEDs built into the scene like San Francisco or Dubai. Mostly students were thankful that they were able to relax in the midst of AP testing and build models with each other. They also take pride in where the models eventually go around class and have placed the cityscapes where they could be seen the most for years to come. They also have had to figure out how to get tall buildings like the Freedom Tower or the Eiffel Tower to fit on the shelves by rearranging other models around the class. They have only completed half the builds so the fun continues! Thank you so much for contributing to our class! These models will help us point out architectural features to many future students as well.","fullyFundedDate":1746813042325,"projectUrl":"project/building-famous-cityscapes/9269496/","projectTitle":"Building Famous Cityscapes","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Lippstreu","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp4156543_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1516834604787","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4156543"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_26415","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":2104,"numTeachers":102,"percentFrplEligible":77,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":0,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":97,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"20.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":78.8,"schoolId":26415,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about El Rancho High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"El Rancho High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/el-rancho-unified-school-district/el-rancho-high-school/26415"}
