The students will be able to use the books that are of high interest and low readability independently. These includes books titled; Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Captain Underpants, Dork Diaries, and I Survived. The students will be able to take reading comprehension quizzes based on these books after they have completed reading them. The students will enjoy and appreciate the books that they can read and that are of high interest to them. Our school incorporates the Accelerated Reader program to improve reading. My classroom library currently has books, however they are not high interest of my students. I believe having high interest books in the class library for my students will provide them with the opportunity to read material that they prefer, which will result in the students wanting to read.
