My Foods 1 students were already making tortillas from scratch for the taco lab, but the tortilla shells usually ended up lopsided and not uniform in thickness. These tortilla presses made the lab run more smoothly and the students had a lot of fun using them. Students from previous semesters even came by to say how jealous they were!\r\n\r\nThe cast iron skillets will be used in many other labs such as stir fry, cornbread, and cookie skillets. My students were extremly excited when the large box showed up with our name on it. They were very eager to unload the box and especially curious to the see the new fabric that was purchased. The individual sewing kits will definately make completeing this project more enjoyable and efficent. \r\nDue to the change of the semester and the weather here in NC we have not been able to complete our project yet upon the due date of this thank you letter. The students are aware that we are making port-a-cath pillows for local cancer patients. We have been able to look vitrually at the facilities we are sending our pillows to and we have been able to talk with two cancer patients.
