The books have been loved and enjoyed by my class last school year (24-25), and my class this year (25-26) was thrilled to see them in our class library! \r\n\r\nWe have used our books to learn Author's Purpose (persuade, inform, or entertain), Central Idea (what is the main lesson the author wants me to learn), and most of all to instill a love of reading.\r\n\r\nWe have a great deal of military families in our classroom. Their parents are often gone for long amounts of time, and their families move frequently. Many of these students love to see the Sunshine State books because they are familiar with them from their previous schools. The comfortable cushions have been wonderful for my students. The variety of colors allowed each child to have their own personal cushion that matches their color in class. We have velcro dots on the floor that are the same colors, so the students know to get their cushion and go to their spot with it. I know it is certainly more comfortable than the floor, but it has also helped the students learn to be responsible for getting and putting their cushion away. It has also helped them stay seated for longer and stay in their space. \r\nThe cushions have been a wonderful gift for our class.
