While our fourth-grade students haven't officially \"broken them out\" yet, they are eagerly counting down the days until they can get their hands on these tiny robots and begin exploring everything they can do.\r\n\r\nThese Ozobots will give our fourth-grade students an exciting, hands-on way to experience STEM through coding, engineering, problem-solving, and creativity. Instead of simply learning about these concepts, students will be able to create paths, give their robots directions, test their ideas, observe what happens, and troubleshoot when things don't go as planned. They will have opportunities to ask questions, make predictions, experiment, and learn that mistakes are an important part of the scientific and engineering process.\r\n\r\nI am especially excited about the connections we will be able to make between the Ozobots and our science curriculum. STEM is so much more meaningful when students can actually DO something with what they are learning. These robots will allow our fourth-grade students to design, build, test, collaborate, and think like scientists and engineers.\r\n\r\nThe excitement from our students has already been incredible. They are fascinated by the idea that a tiny robot can follow their designs and instructions, and they cannot wait to see if they can make their Ozobot do what they want it to do. I know there will be plenty of \"Whoa! Look what mine did!\" moments, along with plenty of troubleshooting and problem-solving.\r\n\r\nThank you to our generous donors for making this opportunity possible! You didn't just provide our classroom with robots... you provided our fourth-grade students with a new way to explore STEM, be creative, work together, and discover that they are capable of thinking like engineers and innovators.
