Because of your support, every student was able to follow along with their own copy as we enjoyed the novel together during our daily read-aloud time. Each day, we spent about 15 minutes reading the next section of the story, and it quickly became one of the highlights of our classroom routine. My students were consistently excited to find out what would happen next, often asking if we could keep reading even after our scheduled time had ended.\r\n\r\nAs we read together, I watched my students naturally develop important reading comprehension skills. They eagerly made predictions about upcoming events, using evidence from the text to support their thinking. Some predictions were correct, while others surprised them, leading to meaningful conversations about how authors use clues to keep readers engaged. Students also made thoughtful inferences, connected the story to their own lives and to other books we had read throughout the year, and participated in rich discussions about cause and effect. They analyzed why characters made certain choices and explored the consequences of those decisions, helping them develop stronger critical thinking skills and a deeper understanding of the text.\r\n\r\nYour donation gave my students much more than a set of books—it gave them a shared reading experience that fostered curiosity, meaningful discussion, and a genuine love of reading. Seeing their excitement, hearing their conversations, and watching them grow into more confident, thoughtful readers was incredibly rewarding. Thank you for investing in my classroom and making experiences like this possible. Your kindness had a lasting impact on my students, and we are truly grateful for your support.","fullyFundedDate":1767621891455,"projectUrl":"project/reading-adventures-with-charlie-and-the/9961283/","projectTitle":"Reading Adventures with 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory'","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Iglesias","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10098703"},{"teacherId":10098703,"projectId":9510796,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donation of STEM building materials to our classroom. We are incredibly grateful for your support and for the opportunity you've given our students to learn in such an engaging, hands-on way. When the materials were first introduced, the excitement in the room was immediate—students' faces lit up as they explored the bins, eagerly asking questions and sharing ideas. The energy and curiosity they showed from the very first moment made it clear that these materials would have a meaningful impact on our learning environment.\r\n\r\n Since then, students have been using the materials to design and build a wide variety of structures, experimenting with different shapes, sizes, and levels of strength. They tested their designs, made adjustments, and worked collaboratively to solve problems when things didn't go as planned. Through this process, students strengthened their understanding of balance, stability, and engineering concepts while also developing perseverance and teamwork skills.
