As a school counselor at a Title 1 school of 800 students, I must find creative ways of addressing students needs, both emotional and behavioral. Sometimes it is just a matter of having the correct tools for a specific need. Every day our students are faced with personal challenges before they get to school and more when throughout their school day. Enhancing my school counseling program with variety of resources, like the following titles: The New Small Person, The last stop on market street, The Pigeon Has Feelings, Too! and more, will help me connect with students when they need it the most.
