Because of you, our learning space has transformed into a place where students feel energized, empowered, and genuinely excited to learn every day.\r\n\r\nThe flexible seating options—wobble stools, floor cushions, balance balls, and collaborative tables—have quickly become essential tools in our daily routines. Students now make thoughtful choices about where they learn best, whether they need movement to stay focused, a quiet nook for reading, or a shared space for teamwork. One of my favorite moments this year happened during a writing workshop: a group of students gathered around a low table on floor cushions, completely absorbed in sharing their stories with each other. Their focus, comfort, and eagerness to hear from one another reflected exactly what this project was meant to achieve.\r\n\r\nWhen the students walked in and saw the flexible seating for the first time, their faces lit up. Some gasped, some clapped, and a few immediately asked, \"Can we try them right now?\" Within minutes, they were exploring each option, discovering their preferences, and talking excitedly about how much more fun learning was going to be.\r\n\r\nRight now, we're diving into a collaborative writing project. Students are forming small groups based on interest and will be writing pages to be published in our class book. The flexible seating has already helped them settle into workspaces that fit their group's style—some spread out, some gathered tightly in discussion circles. The next step is for each team to write fictional stories based on their topic. Your contribution is directly shaping how they learn, create, and share with one another.\r\nThank you again for believing in our classroom and for making such an immediate, meaningful difference. Your support has changed the way we learn—and the way students see themselves as learners. It took us a bit longer to get the items worked into our lessons effectively, as I had to really research how to help with occupational therapy goals. We had great success with the textured paper, wide color coded paper, and special pens--as to be expected. The fidgets that involved fine motor movement were great on tests as well.\r\nWhat was unexpected was the great success at the JENGA style multiplication game--it used stacking and eye-hand coordination, while helping them with their times table. Not only did their eye-hand and fine motor coordination improve but they knocked their times table tests out of the park.\r\nThank you again, so much, from both myself, and the kids. We have enough to carry us as well into this year, and for a whole new group of incoming students as well.\r\nYour gift means the world. I have students in camp this summer still popping in to visit the chicks (that have been returned to the farm). The children learned about the parts of the egg. We watched videos about how the chick develops inside the egg and learned about the changes each day as we counted down to hatching day. We were able so keep the chicks in the classroom for several weeks and watch the changes from a baby chick to what looked like an almost full grown chicken. They observed their feathers growing and their comb start to pop up.\r\n\r\nWhen the supplies for started arriving in the classroom, I got questions almost daily about when the fertilized eggs would come. We read many books about chickens, how to care for them, and how they develop. The children also studies 3D models that show the daily developments inside the eggs. It is by far my favorite project of the year.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping bring this adventure into my classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1737089950976,"projectUrl":"project/heres-a-chick-theres-a-chick-every/9035787/","projectTitle":"Here's a Chick.
