When the boxes arrived, my middle schoolers were so curious and excited to see the new rolling podium, Bluetooth keyboard, and mouse. I told them right away: \"This is so I can spend more time helping right next to you instead of up at my desk.\" They loved hearing that the materials were bought specifically to help me support them better.\r\n\r\nThis setup has completely transformed the rhythm of our science classroom. Instead of being anchored to the front of the room to advance slides, type notes, and demonstrate online simulations, I am now fully mobile. During a recent lab activity, I was able to stand right next to a group of students who needed heavy accommodations, guiding them through the steps and keeping them focused, all while continuing to demonstrate simulations from my mobile keyboard. I no longer have to choose between managing the technology and managing the room; I can finally provide the consistent proximity and real-time support my students deserve.\r\n\r\nOur next step is to fully integrate this mobile station into the upcoming school year. I am excited to tweak and tailor my current curriculum to help students dive into more complex, hands-on science experiments. I also would love for my students to be able to use this station to help bolster their own learning and truly be a part of the lesson. Moving fluidly around the lab while maintaining total visual contact will ensure a safer, more focused, and highly equitable learning environment for every single learner.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in my classroom, honoring my students' learning needs, and giving me the tools I need to be the teacher they truly deserve.","fullyFundedDate":1778093339726,"projectUrl":"project/teaching-on-the-move-and-supporting-ever/10219191/","projectTitle":"Teaching on the Move and Supporting Every Learner","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Casarez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10475554_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1777527032595","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10475554"},{"teacherId":8174406,"projectId":10291938,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for helping complete my classroom set of Sphero BOLT robots! Your generosity has made sure that every student can actively participate in our robotics and computer science lessons instead of waiting for a turn or sharing limited equipment. These robots have transformed coding from something students only see on a screen into something they can watch move, react, and solve challenges in the real world. As students program the robots to navigate obstacle courses, complete engineering tasks, and respond to sensors, they develop computational thinking, problem-solving skills, and perseverance through hands-on experimentation.\r\n\r\nThe feature that excites my students the most is seeing their own code come to life. There is a genuine sense of accomplishment when a robot successfully completes a challenge after several rounds of testing and debugging. Students quickly realize that mistakes are not failures but opportunities to improve their programs, making the learning process both engaging and authentic. The interactive nature of the Sphero BOLTs has also increased collaboration as teams work together to refine strategies and celebrate each other's successes.\r\n\r\nSome of the students who have embraced this technology the most are those who don't always shine during traditional classroom activities. The visual and hands-on nature of robotics gives many of my English learners and kinesthetic learners an opportunity to demonstrate their creativity and problem-solving abilities in new ways. By completing my classroom set, you have helped create an environment where every student can participate fully, build confidence, and discover that they have the potential to become programmers, engineers, and innovators. The skateboards, safety gear, and practice equipment have allowed students of all skill levels to participate safely and successfully. One of the most exciting moments was watching students who were once too nervous to step on a skateboard begin practicing balance drills and cheering each other on as they learned their first tricks. The new resources have also helped us create structured skill stations where students work together on teamwork, perseverance, and goal setting.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the new equipment, they were beyond excited. Many could not believe they finally had access to quality skate gear and safety equipment they could use regularly. Students immediately began asking questions, trying on helmets and pads, and encouraging their friends to join the club. The excitement and sense of pride they felt created an instant boost in participation and enthusiasm.\r\n\r\nOur next steps are to continue developing students' skating skills while also focusing on leadership and community building. Students are currently working toward mastering beginner and intermediate techniques, and we hope to organize small demonstrations and peer mentoring opportunities where experienced skaters help newer members. The equipment has opened the door for students to stay engaged, active, and connected through a fun and supportive activity, and we are incredibly grateful to our donors for making these experiences possible.","fullyFundedDate":1778953807311,"projectUrl":"project/rolling-toward-confidence-skate-club-eq/10174673/","projectTitle":"Rolling Toward Confidence: Skate Club Equipment for Our Students","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Soriano","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp1060560_orig.png?crop=638,638,x177,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1754078646458","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/1060560"},{"teacherId":8174406,"projectId":9991282,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for supporting our project, \"Print It Forward: Every Team Gets a 3D Printer!\" Your generosity has already had an incredible impact on our students and classroom. With additional 3D printers available, every student team now has greater access to hands-on design and engineering experiences without long wait times between prints. Students immediately began brainstorming ideas and testing designs, and one of our very first classroom projects was printing custom Drone Pilot keychains connected to our Drone Technology Unit. Watching students see their digital creations become real, physical objects was an exciting and powerful learning moment.\r\n\r\nWhen the printers first arrived, students were amazed. Many gathered around as the first prints began, asking questions about how the machines worked and eagerly waiting to see the final products come off the print beds. The excitement in the classroom was contagious, and students quickly realized that these printers would allow them to create prototypes, solve problems, and bring their ideas to life in ways that simply weren't possible before. Having more printers also created a more collaborative environment where teams could work simultaneously and stay actively engaged throughout the design process.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, these printers will continue to support a wide range of STEM and engineering projects. Students are preparing to move into more advanced 3D modeling challenges where they will design functional objects, engineering prototypes, and custom parts connected to robotics and physical computing projects. While we have not yet had the time to fully sort and organize all of our boxes of components into the new storage bins, students were immediately excited when the materials arrived and could already see how much more functional and organized our classroom will become. Many students commented on how \"official\" and \"professional\" the classroom felt with real storage systems designed for engineering and technology workspaces.\r\n\r\nEven before everything has been fully sorted, the new storage resources are helping us plan for a more efficient and student-centered learning environment. Students understand that organized materials mean less time searching for missing components and more time building, coding, designing, and collaborating. One recent classroom discussion centered around how we will organize different robotics and electronics components so future projects can run more smoothly and independently.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we plan to use these storage systems to support our expanding physical computing, robotics, drone technology, and engineering activities.
