The introduction of the new games motivated students to stay focused and actively practice their literacy skills. Students were thrilled to explore the new games, and demonstrated strong engagement and independence during rotations. Instead of struggling with the frustration of being misunderstood, my students can now tap icons to navigate complex sentence structures. This technology allows them to:\r\n\r\nExpress basic needs (e.g., \"I am hungry\" or \"I need a break\").\r\n\r\nParticipate in group lessons by answering questions in real-time.\r\n\r\nSocialize with peers, which is a massive milestone for students who previously relied on physical gestures or leading an adult by the hand.\r\n\r\nThe most exciting thing for my students has been the speed and reliability of these new devices. Older technology often lags or crashes, which is incredibly discouraging for a child trying to communicate a thought. With these new tablets, the response is instantaneous. The crisp screens and portable size have made \"talking\" feel more natural and less like a chore. One of my non-verbal students, who used to shy away from group activities, has completely warmed to his new device.
