My students eagerly look forward to reading Scholastic News each week because the articles connect learning to real-world science, technology, and current events. These texts have helped students strengthen important skills such as reading comprehension, identifying main ideas and supporting details, analyzing nonfiction text features, and developing critical thinking through discussion and writing.\r\n\r\nReading in our classroom is an active and collaborative experience. Students read independently, work with partners, and participate in whole-group conversations where they ask questions, share observations, and make connections to what they are learning in science and other subjects. Many students especially enjoy the engaging photographs and fascinating topics that spark curiosity and encourage them to learn more.\r\n\r\nSeveral students who were previously reluctant readers have become more excited about nonfiction reading. They are eager to discuss articles about animals, inventions, and scientific discoveries with their classmates. Seeing students become more confident readers and enthusiastic learners has been one of the most rewarding outcomes of this project.\r\n\r\nIn addition to supporting literacy, the organizational supplies have helped create a well-structured classroom where students can easily access materials for STEAM activities and collaborative projects.
