My students are a group of magnificent first graders who are in a Mandarin Dual Language program. Every day they spend half the day in an English speaking classroom with me and the other half day with their Mandarin teacher. My first graders work very hard every day to learn all subjects in both English and Mandarin in order to be proficient in both languages, according to Common Core State Standards and Next Generation Science Standards. My school is a Title I school, but students, families, teachers, and staff all work together to facilitate a better future for our students.
