Materials such as coloring markers, stress balls, and stretchy fidget toys allow students to use their imagination and sense of touch to further their socioemotional learning. Students learn best when they're able to engage in learning styles that fit them best, including kinesthetic, visual, reading/writing, and auditory. Social skills board games with multiple scenarios of situations they may encounter in real life will prepare them for social issues, think through their options, and assist with problem-solving skills and decision-making skills. Stress balls and fidget toys help them practice healthy coping mechanisms when they encounter stressful challenges in their life. Students can take their learned skills and apply them to not only their relationships within the classroom, but also when they are out of the class, interacting with their peers at school, and at home.
