They have allowed me to create a more structured, organized, and complete learning environment inside a space that is not traditionally set up like a classroom.\r\n\r\nThe clipboards have been especially valuable because our gym does not have desks. Each student is now able to have their own workspace for journal entries, curriculum activities, health lessons, goal setting, and other written assignments. The pencils, highlighters, markers, paper, and cardstock have also made it possible for me to provide every student with the supplies they need without requiring them to bring materials from home.\r\n\r\nBecause these resources are readily available, students can come into class prepared to learn without worrying about whether they remembered a pencil, notebook, or other school supplies. The organizing cart has helped keep everything together, easy to access, and ready to use, which has made transitions between physical activity and classroom-style learning much smoother.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, these materials have helped me expand what physical education looks like for my students. I have been able to incorporate more textbook-style curriculum, health education, written reflection, goal setting, and academic learning into PE while still focusing on movement, fitness, and wellness. These resources have helped turn our gym into a true learning space where every student has the materials and opportunity to participate and be successful.","fullyFundedDate":1758804399793,"projectUrl":"project/back-to-the-basics/9727349/","projectTitle":"Back to the Basics","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Edmondson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6587351_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1788225490247","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6587351"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_86963","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":844,"numTeachers":52,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":23,"percentWhite":42,"percentIndigenous":3,"percentLatinx":13,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":15,"gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"16.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":77.7,"schoolId":86963,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Carl Albert Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Carl Albert Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/oklahoma/midwest-city-del-city-public-schools/carl-albert-middle-school/86963"}
