The missing connection was the ability to prepare and consume it. The students have now been able to complete the whole farm to table experience. They planted the seeds, cared for the plants that produced the food, and now they reap the benefits of their hard work. Many students were unfamiliar with some of the vegetables we were growing. They were hesitant to try them. One student claimed, there is no way I'm eating eggplant.\r\n The students loved playing chef. They enthusiastically chopped up the eggplants and practiced some knife skills. They argued about which spices were best to add to the dish. Each group customized their plate with a different combination and got to compare the results. The student that said he would never eat it, devoured an entire plate. The majority of the students had never even tried eggplant before and now they are thinking up ways they can prepare it again. \r\nThe equipment also allowed the students to enjoy some scrambled eggs at the end of our egg unit and get to taste the difference of fresh eggs directly from the chickens that they care for. Thank you for helping me give all these life experiences to my students. They are bettered prepared to make healthy eating habits for life.","fullyFundedDate":1726666601322,"projectUrl":"project/taste-the-rainbowof-nutrition/8778005/","projectTitle":"Taste the Rainbow...of Nutrition","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Bailey","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp6063601_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1542339729028","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6063601"},{"teacherId":7690703,"projectId":6487787,"letterContent":"I hope this message finds you well.
