It is very important with kindergartners to keep students physically active throughout the day. I try to utilize my entire classroom by having students not only work at their tables and as a group on the floor, but also in different centers throughout the room. I do my whole group instruction on the floor in front of the smart board, but my students are sitting on cold, hard tile currently as I do not have a carpeted area. I would love to be able to have an area with rugs where my students can sit comfortably and learn, I believe when students are comfortable they learn better.
