We purchased blank passports and books for grades K-5th. \r\n\r\nThe passport's were used for reading activities the students completed both in class and in the library. In the library, students chose literacy centers based on different genres to explore. In the classrooms, students used their passports in different ways that matched with what they were currently studying. The students had their passports stamped when they completed a project. This whole school activity made learning fun. \r\n\r\nWe were able to purchase books to give away to every student to keep. The students were excited about the books and were grateful for them.\r\n\r\nThe literacy week made an impact with all the activities that students will remember for years to come. The students have used them to help them self regulate and stay focused during instructional periods. \r\n\r\nThe books that were ordered are allowing students to access decodable books at their reading level. Each morning when the kids enter the classroom it is bright and cheerful which also helps with them starting the day on a good note. \r\n\r\nThis will be my last Donor's Choose project since I am retire this year.
