These resources will help my students target direct goals and benchmarks in their IEP's to target both their academics and their social and emotional needs. The "Little SPOT of Emotions," "Little SPOT of Life Skills," and "Little SPOT Takes Action" book sets will target the standard SL.K.1 to help facilitate conversations among peers in regards to their feelings and emotions, as well as strategies to help them identify these. The multiplication, 100's chart and alphabet pop-its will be great tools to increase student engagement to work on their basic reading and math facts skills. The tools will help target the standards: RF.K.1, 1.NBT.A.1, 2.NBT.A.5, and 3.OA.A.1. Most of these students have not experienced a regular school year for two years. Due to COVID-19, some of my students were unable to experience an early education environment. They are missing crucial social and emotional and problem solving skills which can hinder academic development and peer relationships. These resources will alleviate sensory related stressors and allow students to more readily access their grade level academic content and build problem solving and relationship skills.
