We would love to see students using the presentation boards to share work at an even smaller level, like when working in small groups. From a school counseling perspective, this isn't just about cleanliness; it's about fostering a secure and reassuring environment where every student feels cared for and valued. Knowing that their learning spaces are clean and healthy directly contributes to a sense of well-being, reducing anxieties about illness and allowing them to focus more fully on their academic and social growth.\r\n\r\nThe availability of these supplies empowers both our staff and students. Teachers can quickly address spills and sanitize surfaces, promoting a proactive approach to health that models responsibility for our students. For our students, especially our younger learners, having hand sanitizer readily available encourages healthy habits and teaches them about personal agency in maintaining their own health. This foundation of a clean and safe environment is crucial for supporting positive behaviors, minimizing distractions caused by discomfort or illness, and ultimately, ensuring that our students feel safe enough to take risks, engage deeply, and thrive emotionally and academically every single day.\r\n\r\nOn behalf of all the students, staff, and families at Brooklyn Collaborative Studies, we extend our deepest gratitude for your compassion and commitment to our school. Your donations for our healthy snack project have had a significant and positive impact on our school community.\r\n\r\nHaving access to healthy snacks throughout the school day has directly led to improved student focus and energy levels. We've observed a noticeable decrease in mid-afternoon slumps and an increase in students' ability to concentrate in class. When students aren't distracted by hunger, they are better able to engage with lessons and retain information. This directly contributes to enhanced academic performance across all subjects.\r\n\r\nBeyond the academic benefits, this project has fostered a more supportive and caring school environment. Students feel valued and seen, knowing that their well-being is a priority. This simple act of providing nutritious snacks communicates that we, as a school community, care about their basic needs, which in turn can lead to increased student morale and a more positive attitude toward school. It also helps to reduce inequities, ensuring that all students, regardless of their circumstances, have access to the fuel they need to learn.\r\n\r\nFinally, this initiative has been a fantastic opportunity to promote healthy eating habits. By consistently offering nutritious options, we are subtly educating students about making positive food choices. This exposure to healthy snacks can have a lasting impact, encouraging them to think more critically about what they eat both in and out of school.","fullyFundedDate":1742823944374,"projectUrl":"project/snacks-for-students/9068651/","projectTitle":"Snacks for Students","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Kahlia","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4954465_orig.jpg?crop=2126,2126,x10,y1159&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1729013526600","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4954465"},{"teacherId":4480724,"projectId":9026810,"letterContent":"Increasingly we''ve found it has become more difficult to engage students in reading literature. We are excited that they will be writing about stories they fully enjoyed and engaged with.
