Learning new vocabulary words is one of the most important skills in 3rd grade, especially for my multilingual students. \r\n\r\nOur next activity is to read the Scholastic News articles as a group or in pairs- I let them pick. It gives them a chance to read at their own pace, or if they are a struggling reader, I can read it to them and stop and ask comprehension questions. \r\n\r\nThe students are so curious about the articles! And I love how they hear one story and make a connection to something a few weeks later.
