I have recieved every book we will be reading this year!! While it doesn't not seem too cumbersome to utilize technology and access these prints on the big screen, the magic of opening a book for the first time is timeless.\r\n\r\nI recently set one of our books out in the play center for my students to access. I encourage them to read the book to a friend (particularly one who came in late and missed our group reading). My 4 year olds cannot read but they can explain main characters, sequence story events, recite vocabulary words and practice prosity. Without the book in their hands, all of my lessons fall into empty spaces.\r\n\r\nI can now re-evaluate my 25'-26' budget and aim to improve other areas of my classroom. Maybe I will provide more (or newer) books! The ability to make those choices is invaluable to a teacher. Every donation, be it monetary or a used toy, makes an impact that continues to create a ripple effect all year long.\r\n\r\nAgain, thank you! The best outcome of this project has been the fellow teachers who were encouraged to start their own donors choose projects and found themselves fully funded!
