The privacy folders have been especially helpful during independent work, assessments, and i-Ready activities. They give each student his or her own little workspace and help reduce distractions so students can concentrate and show what they know.\r\n\r\nMy students were so excited when our new supplies arrived! They especially loved seeing the privacy folders set up on their desks and quickly learned that when the folders come out, it is time to settle in, focus, and do their very best work. It has been wonderful to see how something so simple can help create a calmer and more focused learning environment.\r\n\r\nAs we continue through second grade, my students will be building their independence in reading, writing, and math while working toward their individual learning goals. In math, many times they need different colors to distingquish lines, angles, fraction parts, decimal graphing, and more. These fit right into their pencil pouch for easy access without any disruptions or delays during our math lessons. \r\n\r\nThe students were so excited to open and use these colored pencils. No one in the class had anything like these. It's always fun to get something new, and especially when it's fancy like these. In my classroom, unfortunately, every student doesn't come to school with the supplies they need. These also filled in gaps where students didn't have any colored pencils or crayons at all. \r\n\r\nNot only did we use these for math class, but other projects like our Black History Month projects, and thank you notes that we sent the JROTC from our local high school for helping with our field day activities this Spring. The best thing and main reason I requested these twistable pencils is that in working on all of our academic and fun activities, no time was wasted stopping to sharpen colored pencils because of dull or broken points from the soft lead!
