My students are eager to gain knowledge and grow as learners; however, they really don't like to sit and listen to a lesson. They want to actually experience the learning and that's the type of instruction that I try to provide in my classroom! Learning happens by doing and they retain so much more when they actually engage in hands-on activities. One area that my students are weak in is problem solving. To help strengthen their problem solving skills, I like to provide as many opportunities as possible for them to experience hands-on activities. Unfortunately, my classroom is lacking in materials to provide a good variety of hands-on problem solving activities for my students.
STEM/STEAM activities are a wonderful way to address both problem solving and hands-on learning with my students.
The materials that I am requesting will be used to create STEM/STEAM bins for my students to use daily. The materials include magnetic building blocks, Tinker Toys, Legos, marble mazes, and so much more. These bins will allow the students to explore and solve problems and challenge them to think outside of the box. These activities will help strengthen their problem solving skills and foster creativity and brain development. By strengthening these skills, my students will become more successful in all areas of learning. The great thing about these activities is that they will be having a blast while growing and learning! Please help me provide these wonderful opportunities for my students. I can't wait to watch them soar!
