It was such a delightful surprise to get the message from Donors Choose the my project had been fully funded. The students were very excited to see all of our extra supplies get delivered.\r\n\r\nThe book bins are being used to help students keep all of their books and supplies for class organized and together so they can always find what we need for class. This will be great to have for the beginning of this year so that students will learn the expectations and be able to work efficiently during class time. \r\n\r\nStudents will be using the whiteboard markers and dry erase pockets during math time as well as centers. With this powerful tool, students were able to document their entire design process in a dynamic and immersive way. It allowed us to capture brainstorming sessions, prototyping, and testing from all angles, giving judges a comprehensive view of the collaborative effort behind our project. The footage added a layer of authenticity and professionalism to our submission, helping us tell our story in a way that stood out from traditional video formats.\r\n\r\nBeyond just documentation, the 360° camera also inspired students to think more creatively about presentation and storytelling. They took ownership of the filming process, planning scenes that would showcase their work and voice from multiple perspectives. This not only enhanced their communication skills but also gave them a deeper sense of pride and accomplishment. Ultimately, the camera helped us highlight the innovation, teamwork, and problem-solving that defined our project—contributing directly to our winning entry in the state competition.","fullyFundedDate":1733152443834,"projectUrl":"project/a-360-camera-for-virtual-reality-creati/8719747/","projectTitle":"A 360 Camera for Virtual Reality Creation","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Akane","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9340352_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1724600451122","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-akane"},{"teacherId":9340352,"projectId":8944591,"letterContent":"The K2 Reality 3D printer has been a game-changer for my middle school design and modeling class, transforming the way students bring their ideas to life. With access to this technology, students are now able to move beyond drawings and digital models to create tangible, physical prototypes of their designs. This hands-on experience has helped deepen their understanding of design principles, spatial reasoning, and the engineering design process. It has also sparked greater engagement, as students see their creativity materialize layer by layer in real time.\r\n\r\nThe 3D printer has also encouraged more iterative thinking. Students can print their initial designs, evaluate them for functionality or aesthetics, and make improvements in a cycle that mirrors real-world product development. This has built their confidence in problem-solving and taught them the value of persistence and revision. From custom keychains and model bridges to more complex mechanical parts, the K2 Reality 3D printer has elevated the learning experience and inspired students to explore careers in engineering, design, and technology.","fullyFundedDate":1733152443929,"projectUrl":"project/state-of-the-art-creality-k2-3d-printer/8944591/","projectTitle":"State of the Art Creality K2 3D Printer","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Akane","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9340352_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1724600451122","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-akane"},{"teacherId":9340352,"projectId":8981634,"letterContent":"Refilling STEM supplies such as LEGO bricks, batteries, and other consumable materials has had a significant impact on my K–5 STEM students. With fresh resources available, students have been able to fully engage in hands-on learning activities that support creativity, problem-solving, and collaboration. For younger students, the ability to build and rebuild using LEGO sets has strengthened their fine motor skills and spatial reasoning. Older students, meanwhile, have used these materials to prototype real-world solutions in robotics and simple engineering projects, which deepens their understanding of STEM concepts through active experimentation.\r\n\r\nHaving consistent access to consumable materials like batteries has also allowed students to test their designs and bring their ideas to life without interruption. It has encouraged a cycle of trial, error, and improvement, which is essential to developing a growth mindset. These fresh supplies not only sustain student interest and excitement but also create an equitable environment where every child has the tools they need to explore, innovate, and thrive in STEM learning.
