These are things I used to buy these with my own money each week.\r\n\r\nThe algebra vocabulary cards and posters are now part of our daily lessons, helping students visually connect new terms with math concepts. I love that the terms have Spanish on them as well! In Business Math, students are loving the cash register and ATM machine during our hands-on financial literacy unit. As each package of supplies arrived, they eagerly opened the boxes, marveling at the colors and the heavy weight of the metal hooks.\r\n\r\nTo date, we're using the supplies in a variety of ways. For our veterans, they're finding that one color they were missing to complete a project. For others, they see a different hook size or yarn weight and are inspired to try something new. For our beginners, they are exploring different types of yarns and styles, each one of them brave enough to pick out a skein and a hook and start their newest passion.\r\n\r\nAll of us are so comforted by your generosity! As I write this, two groups of veterans are chatting away as they craft, building new friendships and dragging more shy friends into the fold. Another group has welcomed beginners to the mix, patiently showing them how to hold the hook and yarn for the best results. Still others are running their hands down the skeins, still in awe of the beautiful selection before them. And every day, new members join, having heard about the club from another friend or trusted adult.\r\n\r\nNext, we're planning to share our newfound skills with our school! We'll crochet and knit hats and scarves to sell in our school store, in our school's colors of course! We're also hoping to dive into some amigurumi-making over the summer---I'm hoping our cheerleaders will launch them into the stands during our pep rallies!\r\n\r\nWe couldn't have done this without you!
