I have requested equipment and materials for my students to perform PCR and Gel Electrophoresis. These are part of a standard entry college biology course. My students deserve to have these experiences. These experiences will engage, promote and prepare my students for the future. I want my students to be prepared for there higher level course work at the collegiate level, by getting them use to the technological demands while they are in high school. They will perform tests which are regularly run in a clinical medical lab. Later when my students come back to me and ask for letters of recommendations to college, I want to be able to write about their abilities and assure the colleges the students are completely ready both academically and technologically to fit into any program they desire.
