My students have varying disabilities that create unique challenges with emotional regulation when engaging in academic lessons and working collaboratively with others. Many of my students are affected with loud noises, causing them anxiety and stress that can sometimes lead to aggression or peer conflict. These noise cancelling headphones will allow them to focus on their own thinking when they need to and ignore distractions that cause them anxiety within the classroom. Many times in order to achieve this peace, they leave the classroom and act out in other ways. If they can ignore and find peace within themselves, then they can stay in the class and continue their learning.
