During DECA meetings and classroom team-building activities, students have used Catch Phrase to strengthen communication and collaboration while Simon has been incorporated into activities focused on concentration, memory, and friendly competition. These activities have helped create a positive classroom culture where students are actively engaged and willing to work together.\r\n\r\nThe snack packs, Oreo variety packs, and Rice Krispies Treats have been used to support students during after-school DECA meetings, competition preparation sessions, and extended project work days. My ninth-grade students are learning how to support their ideas with evidence, ask thoughtful questions, and engage in meaningful discussions, all through the power of the books you've provided. Additionally, they are able to have resources that keep our classroom a functioning and organized space. \r\n\r\nIn our classroom, reading is active and collaborative. Students annotate, highlight, and respond to texts in real time, often working with partners or small groups to unpack complex ideas. They are making direct connections between the novels and contemporary issues they see in the news, on social media, and in their daily lives.\r\n\r\nThese book clubs are giving students the space to wrestle with big ideas. They are discussing ethical dilemmas, challenging one another's thinking, and learning how to support their perspectives with evidence from the text. Every student has a voice in these conversations, and the engagement has been real.\r\n\r\nYour generosity did more than provide books. The classroom seems more pleasant and fresh thanks to the air purifier, and the headphones help students concentrate by reducing outside noise and enhancing their ability to hear the lessons. Some people who are easily distracted or sensitive to noise, for instance, find that wearing headphones helps them focus better when reading.
