The supplies that I am requesting will directly impact the band program at my school for years to come. With the large amount of growth that the program is currently experiencing, reeds for different instruments are necessary to get students started playing an instrument for the first time on the same day that they choose their instrument. Reeds are expensive, yet vital parts of instruments that all woodwind instruments need in order to play. By funding this project, students will not need to commit to paying for quantities of reeds until they try the instruments out for a period of time. This will directly impact the beginners in my program who want to try out the band program for the first time, or who do not have the financial means to pay for instrument supplies, especially before committing to playing the instrument long term.
