You Never Have Enough Pencils for The Classroom

My Students

Classrooms never have enough pencils. I want to have pencils to give to my students as rewards for winning bingo games, logical thinking activities or guestimation questions. My students love to participate, the activities reinforce the earth science curriculum, and they can win a prize they need.

I teach earth science at an at-risk high school and love it.

My students must pass my class to graduate so I try to make it as interesting and exciting as possible. They attend at at-risk high school but will compete with all other high school students to enter college. I want to help them to be prepared. I also want to show my students that earth science can be fun.

My Project

I use bingo games to teach, reinforce and access parts of my curriculum. I also use logical thinking questions to help my students understand certain concepts. Guestimation questions, sometimes a guess and sometimes an estimate, helps my students to think about a topic we are about to cover. When we do these activities I like to be able to give my winning student a pencil as a prize. A pencil is an item my students need and can use everyday.

Who doesn't love to hear "Congratulations!

You are the winner"? I hope you will help me to give this opportunity to my students. This will add fun and excitement to their earth science class.
