Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are very enthusiastic, dependable, hard-working, committed, determined and ambitious. They are students in my special education class. These students are in the functional living Skills class. I utilize the Unique Learning Curriculum and there are a lot of assignments that are computer-based.
My students look forward to actively participating and engaging themselves in every aspect of all the components of this curriculum.
I try to provide them with various forms of the lesson, unfortunately, I cannot reach every student using this method. It is becoming very dishearten to know and realize that some of my students need various forms of technology to actively participate in their learning process. Unfortunately, I cannot financially provide my students with the necessary resources and materials needed to ensure they all have a positive educational learning experience.
Every single student in my class has capabilities, talents, and strengths; sometimes, all it takes is exposure or motivation. The students in my class strive for excellence and want to be successful.
My Project
Exploring the world through technology will enhance the quality of life for many individuals with disabilities. Utilizing these tablets will open their minds to places outside of the classroom and help them see the world as other students. Using this form of technology will give all students a voice where they might otherwise have one.
In Fostering the minds of individuals with disabilities, educators have to think outside of the box.
Providing students with an assortment of learning styles and devices are key in their individual academic success in moving them towards mastery of their individualized educational plans and growth.
