With these new Chromebooks, my students with various forms of mental and physical disabilities will be able to see and experience different cultures, see vivid real life pictures of a multitude of objects and actively engage in the search for information that pertains to their curriculum lessons. This experience will allow them to search independently at their own cognitive and grade level information on various things and subjects that interest them in a more effective and efficient manner. Learning to navigate these Chromebooks will give them a sense of independence, self-worthiness and accomplishment. Ultimately these Chromebooks will allow them to experience technology like their non-disabled peers. They will be able to listen to music, play various games, watch movies in a variety of formats. Utilizing these technological devices will increase their quality of life in both socialization and communication. These Chromebooks will bring the outside world into their lives with the push of a button and or a strike of a key on the keyboard.
