This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our preschool students are three, four, and five years-old. They're hard working, active, and excited to learn new things. They like to play, sing songs, and listen to stories. More than half of my students are from low income households. Many of them are from single parent homes. Our school is a Title 1, public, inner-city school. One hundred percent of the students receive free or reduced price lunch. Our schools resources are very limited. However, I strive to provide a supportive learning environment that has enrichment materials to foster their growth and love for learning!
My Project
Children are natural born scientists. They’re curious, inquisitive, and open minded. Science at the preschool level is fun. Young learners enjoy discovering and exploring the world around them through hands-on experiences. Our classroom needs materials that support scientific learning.
The donations to this project will increase student engagement, encourage critical thinking, and help to develop the budding scientist inside each student.
The STEM kits will help to sharpen their problem solving skills and provide opportunities to investigate ideas. The students will learn about body parts while having fun with Mr. Potato Head. The students will learn cause and effect with the Magnet Cars. All of the materials requested will inspire my students to become life-long scientists.
