Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students come to school each day with a wide range of academic needs, learning styles, and social-emotional strengths and challenges.

I am requesting an iPad, a protective case, and a digital pencil to create meaningful learning opportunities that support both academic growth and social-emotional learning (SEL).

This technology will allow students to engage in interactive lessons, small-group instruction, and personalized learning activities that build confidence and independence. For many students, using digital tools reduces frustration and anxiety by allowing them to work at their own pace, receive immediate feedback, and express their thinking in creative ways such as drawing, recording their voice, or typing instead of writing.

The iPad will also be used to support our classroom’s SEL practices. Students will use it to access mindfulness activities, emotion check-ins, self-reflection tools, and calming strategies when they are feeling overwhelmed. It will be an important resource in our calming corner, helping students learn how to regulate their emotions, problem-solve, and return to learning feeling safe and supported.

With the added protection of a durable case and the precision of a digital pencil, this device will be accessible to all students, including those who benefit from tactile tools or have fine motor challenges.
