I will use these material to create a calming area for my students who have high social emotional needs, ones who needs breaks and help with self regulation. They will be able to utilize this room for moments in which they need help with regulation and need some calming time. They will have structured breaks. This room will also be the place in which I teach many social emotional groups based off of evidence based curriculum, to help teach students strategies on how to help themselves self regulate when times get too tough. The room and area will be the students safe space, where they can calm down on their own with no judgment, instead of making a bad choice and getting in trouble. This will continue to help their on going regulation and help them grow and be able to successful in and out of class. If a student is suffering emotionally they cant learn academically.
