Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

At my school, we have something called the "millionaire's program." When students read a book, they take a quiz. If they pass the comprehension quiz, the program "counts" the number of words that were in the book. The first Harry Potter, for example, has 77,000 words. We are pushing students to read at least a million words by the end of the year, making them a "millionaire."

In order for students to want to read more books, they have to like what they are reading.

If students are not liking what they are reading, they will never be able to fall in love with it! The students and I compiled a list of books that they would like to read, which you will see on our list. Please help give them the books they WANT to read, so they can become millionaires!
