Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We are one of many Title I schools in our region. My classroom is made up of 25 vibrant students who come from beautiful, diverse backgrounds. A big number of these students have never been to school and are now in third grade. They struggle to read and to keep up with the curriculum. With the Leapfrog book materials, I can help these students learn letters and sounds, which lay the foundation for literacy. In addition, many students display dyslexia symptoms. Having the right tools, will give them a boost to overcome some of these barriers. Supplies are not always easy to access, but they are necessary for learning. Our students benefit when they have the tools they need to succeed. With so many different needs, it is so important to have specific supplies handy to help the students learn the curriculum.
